UK Hallmarking
In the UK, it is illegal to sell or describe any item as gold, silver, platinum, or palladium unless it is hallmarked. Hallmarking is the official system that guarantees the precious metal content of jewellery, giving you confidence that every piece has been independently tested and verified for its purity.
All Ice Skating Jewellery complies with the Hallmarking Act of 1973. For pieces over 7.78 grams, we apply the full traditional UK hallmarks from the London Assay Office. These include symbols for the metal type and fineness (for example, 925 for sterling silver or 375 for 9ct gold), the Assay Office mark, and the maker’s unique sponsor mark.
Seeing a hallmark on a piece of jewellery is more than a legal requirement — it’s a quiet assurance of authenticity and quality. Every piece you choose has met the highest standards of craftsmanship and material integrity, so you can enjoy it with complete confidence.
For lovers of ice skating, hallmarking adds an extra layer of meaning. While most Ice Skating Jewellery is under 7.78 grams and therefore not hallmarked by default, a hallmark can be added on request as a sign of authentication for an additional charge. When applied, the hallmark assures that your jewellery is not only beautiful but crafted to last — a keepsake as enduring as your passion for the ice.
